FUNDRAISER: Final Round Up Week Event
The Art for Charity event on Saturday, June 21 (10am- 12pm and/or 1- 3pm) is the final event of the Round Up Week Fundraiser. Stop by & create a work of art on a 6″×6″ canvas board (provided). The art piece is donated to the LEC to use for various fundraising-related activity. Supplies provided or bring your own. No experience necessary. All money “rounded up” during Round-Up week events will be split 50%-50% between the Life Enrichment Center and the Alzheimer’s Association’ Longest Day Campaign.Thank you to everyone who has already contributed!
Workshop Registration Deadlines:
(Note: If any of these workshops do not have a certain minimum number registered before the deadline, that workshop will be cancelled–so register soon!)
- REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Wednesday, June 25th
- Quilling on Canvas with award-winning guest instructor Julia Macek on Monday, June 30 (10am – 12:30pm) $50 members/$60 non-members. Supplies provided. Great for beginners, or take your quilling skills to the next level.
- REGISTRATION DEADLINES: Wednesday, July 2nd
- Beginning Wire Wrapping with Zan & Jo on Tuesday, July 8 (1-3pm) $15 members/$20 non-members. Supplies provided. No experience necessary. Practice the basics of wire wrapping for jewelry-making. First in a summer series of wire-wrapped jewelry weekday workshops.
- Colored Pencils with Mark Menendez: on Saturday, July 19 (10am – 3pm) $65 members/$80 non-members. Supplies provided. The techniques learned in this workshop can also be applied to other media like pastels.
Class, Workshop, & Club News
- GAME ON! The new Games Club will have an inaugural meeting on Tuesday, June 24 from 1-3 pm ($0 members/$5 non-members). Train dominos will be the featured game. It is a fun and easy-to-learn variation of dominos. No experience necessary.
- POETRY—UNDER THE MASK: On Thursdays from 10:30am – 12pm the Poetry class meets online and in person. The topic for this week is “Under the Mask: Voice and Speaker in Poetry”. - SATURDAY WORKSHOP–Acrylic Pour: Saturday, June 28 (10am – 12pm) $10 members/$20 non-members. Supplies provided. No experience necessary. Learn acrylic pour tips and practice different techniques to create unique works of art.
- BOOK CLUB 2.0 JUNE SELECTION: Read or listen to Blowing the Bloody Doors Off and Other Life Lessons, a memoir by award-winning actor Michael Caine, then join the discussion on June 30 (10am -12pm). You can find the book at your local library or purchase it online. (Note: This memoir may have content not suitable for all readers.) - MONDAY WORKSHOP–Quilling on Canvas: Monday, June 30 (10am – 12:30pm) $50 members/$60 non-members. Supplies provided. Join award-winning guest instructor Julia Macek & learn paper quilling techniques to turn thin strips of colored paper into a scene of frolicking flamingos! - RESERVE YOUR SEAT: Sign up sheets are available at the LEC for many upcoming classes and workshops. Make sure you stop by the next time you are in the building!

- DONATIONS NEEDED: Lysol wipes, Ziploc bags (snack and gallon size), large black trash bags
- VOLUNTEER AT THE LEC: Volunteers are needed for 2-hour shifts throughout the week. If you are interested or would like more information, email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or let us know in person.
- OUTREACH INSTRUCTORS NEEDED! One day per month, you would lead a paint-along class at a location in Tampa, Temple Terrace, Wimauma, or Plant City. Training is provided. Email info@lectampa.org or call (813) 932-0241 for more information or to become an outreach instructor.

The LEC is celebrating its 45th Birthday on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 10 am to 3 pm. As in years past, we’ll have vendors, demos, and a basket raffle. Come join us! Contact Bev if you would like to donate a raffle basket.
