Other LEC News

  • DONATIONS NEEDED: Small bottles of water, paper towels
  • STATE FAIR: Thank you to the LEC members who volunteered to be Demo Artists at the State Fair this year.  If you visit the Fair, make sure you stop by the LEC table in the Florida Center to say, “Hi!”  As you view the amazing art on display, see if you can find the pieces submitted by LEC members.
  • PLEIN AIR GROUP: A small group of LEC artists will meet at Al Lopez Park on Monday, February 24 (weather permitting).  Any medium welcome.  Bring all your own supplies. • MARCH POTLUCK: Our March Potluck will be Wednesday, March 5.  The guest speaker will be local author and LEC member, Judy Gray.  Please join us as she discusses the book she recently co-authored, Unwavering: The Wives Who Fought to Ensure No Man is Left Behind.  It is the inspiring and little-known true story of POW and MIA wives who, during the Vietnam War, bucked tradition and cultural norms. Admonished by government officials to “keep quiet” after being told their husbands and sons went missing, these gutsy women endured a myriad twists and turns, spoke up, and moved from the sidelines to the frontlines of advocacy.
  • VOLUNTEER AT THE LEC: Volunteers are needed for afternoon shifts on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. If you are interested or would like more information, email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or let us know in persoon.
