- Pastels Workshop with Janice Shindle: Monday, July 26 (10am – 12pm) $20 members/$30 non-members. Supplies provided. No experience necessary. Use soft pastels to create a serene scene of snow-covered pines glowing in the early morning light. Pre-registration required! To attend, please pay on or before Thursday, July 24. LEC Hits the Road: FIELD TRIP!
Join a special docent-led tour of the Tampa Museum of Art on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Cost: $15 for anyone age 65+. Email info@LECTampa.org or call (813) 932-0241 to sign up or for more information. Space is limited, and drivers are needed.

- WIRE ART JEWELRY WITH DEBRA JOY PEISNER: Monday, July 21 (10am – 12pm) $10 members/$12 non-members. Learn how to wrap a stone to make a pendant. Copper wire and stones provided or bring your own stone. Silver wire available for $12-$18 depending on stone size. No experience necessary.
- GAME ON! The new Games Club meets on Tuesdays from 1-3 pm ($0/$5). Train dominos will be the featured game. It is a fun, and easy-to-learn variation of dominos. No experience necessary.
- DICKINSON MAGIC: On Thursdays from 10:30am – 12pm the Poetry class meets online and in person. The topic for this week is “The Magic of Emily Dickinson”. No experience necessary. Register online here. You can also email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or sign up in person.

- BOOK CLUB 2.0 JULY MEETING: Read or listen to Murder on the Red River by Marcie R. Rendon, then join the discussion on Monday, July 28 (10am -12pm). You can find the book at your local library or purchase it online. (Note: This novel may have content not suitable for all readers.)

- POETRY AWARD: Poet and artist Carol Ward’s poem “My Sexy Compression Hose” won an Honorable Mention in the 2025 Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry. Way to go, Carol!
- “WOVEN IN WAX” ART EXHIBIT: From July 25 – September 5, Pinellas Ale Works, in conjunction with Funky As A Monkey Studios, hosts Woven in Wax. This new exhibit features works by award-winning local abstract artist and art instructor, Francine Bauer. Stop by PAW and check out her art! Professional Development Grant for Artists: DEADLINE ON FRIDAY 7/25
“The Arts Council’s Professional Development for Artists Grant Program is accepting applications! Applications will remain open until Friday, July 25, at 5 pm. This program offers up to $2,000 for emerging and established artists to receive funding for either a piece of permanent equipment or to attend an educational experience.” Visit www.HillsboroughArts.org for more information.
