Dive into the world of watercolor and develop your watercolor skills with award-winning painter Lionel P. Sanchez! This class is great for beginner-to-advanced painters who want to learn new watercolor skills, practice watercolor techniques, explore artistic concepts, and gain confidence with watercolor.
In a paint-along format, instructor Lionel Sanchez will guide you step-by-step and help you build shapes layer-by-layer until you get something more complex. Students will get to explore new subject matters each week and create a watercolor painting from start-to-finish. Subject matters will include a variety of landscapes and buildings. This class builds on the elements and principles of design to help artists master the art of watercolor painting. It will focus on watercolor techniques for painting landscapes and concentrate on learning to paint individual landscape features with watercolor. Students will practice manipulating color, values, and the water-to-pigment ratio to achieve a variety of effects.
Students will gain confidence with basic color theory, values, design, how to mix colors, brush handling, how to control the water-to-pigment ratio, basic shapes and strokes, and various brush techniques. Students will be able to apply teachings and experiment as they paint along with the instructor.
