Time: Group departs from LEC at 9:45am

The Life Enrichment Center is hosting a field trip to The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art in St. Petersburg, Florida, on December 15, 2022. We will be treated to a private tour of the museum’s special exhibition, Black Pioneers: Legacy in the American West, as well as the entire collection.
This field trip is free thanks to the LEC’s Florida Division of Cultural Affairs grant. If interested, please sign up as soon as possible since space is limited. We will also be organizing a carpool to transport attendees to and from the museum. Those attending the field trip will meet at the LEC at 9:45am and depart to the museum from there.
The special Black Pioneers: Legacy in the American West exhibition explores the path of Black history in the West with a timeline of original pictorial quilts, showing a rich diversity of occupations and achievements in society, religion, education, and the arts in the Old West. The James Museum’s other art collections include paintings, sculpture, jewelry, and artifacts from 20th and 21st century artists with a variety of perspectives.
