Watercolor Fun IN PERSON AND ZOOM

/
Designed for beginning and intermediate watercolor students who have completed our Introduction to Watercolor workshop, this class will dive deeper into working with the watercolor medium. In this class, instructor Kathy Edwards will help students explore a variety of watercolor techniques. During each class there will be a watercolor demonstration followed by an exercise where students will practice/explore the new skill (we may work on a specific skill for more than one class).

Paperclay IN-PERSON

/
During this weekly class, students will explore building armatures and sculpting with paper clay (or air-dry clay)! Unlike traditional clays that need to be fired in a kiln, paper/air-dry clays harden and cure at room temperature. Once dry, the pieces can be painted and decorated in a variety of ways. In this class students will learn: how to construct armatures (the frameworks on which a clay sculpture is molded) using foil, Styrofoam, wire, cardboard, etc.; how to mix and sculpt with paper/air-dry clay; how to apply acrylic paint to finished pieces; and how to create mixed media and/or assemblage pieces.
