Class Notes

-Join us Wednesday, March 1 from noon to 1 pm for our Pot Luck Lunch. Bring a dish, a dessert, or a non-alcoholic drink.

–Fun with Watercolor has its first meeting on March 9 from 10am-12pm. This is an in-person class led by instructor Kathy Edwards.

-A big Thank you to members who demonstrated their craft at the Florida State Fair. You helped introduce the LEC to a lot of people.

–Sarah’s Abstract Art Class returns in a hybrid format—both in person and on zoom. The new format will debut on Tuesday, March 7th from 2-4 pm.

-We continue to offer our traditional watercolor, drawing, painting, pastels, and creative writing classes, as well as our popular Tai Chi class.

In Loving Memory

Our friend and LEC instructor Ruth T. Nienhaus passed away on February 9, 2023, at her home in Tampa, Florida, surrounded by family and her beloved dogs. She was 85 years old. Ruth began her art career at the University of Georgia. She taught art at Town and Country Elementary School and East Bay High School until 1977. She then taught adult art classes through the Hillsborough County school system and the Life Enrichment Center before retiring to pursue her painting full time.
