Week of July 21^st – 27^th 

 

• The LEC will be closed Friday July 26^th through Monday July 29^th. The building is being treated for termites. Online classes are unaffected.

 

• Call for Manuscripts! LEC’s yearly Anthology Creative Fire, Embers and Ashes 25 is now accepting original works of writing in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry from LEC Members. Submissions deadline is August 30^th. The guidelines are posted on the resource table and bulletin board. If you have any questions give us a call at (813) 932-0241 or email us at [email protected]. We look forward to receiving your entries.

 

• Do you have a free two hour block any afternoon during the week? The LEC needs volunteers! Please call or drop us an email if you are interested in volunteering with us in the afternoons. Responsibilities include checking emails, light organizational projects, answering phones, etc.

 

• Beginning Acrylic is going on now. Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00pm you will learn the basics of acrylic painting, no experience necessary.

 

• Rescheduled for July 25^th, ClareMedica is sponsoring a Tech Workshop from 10:00-12:00 all about phones and how to navigate them. The signup sheet is on the resource table. This workshop is free to attend.

 

• ClareMedica would like to sponsor an Exercise Wellness Class. This would be every other week and encompass physical wellness and nutrition. If you’re looking for a class to help you stay fit and answer any wellness questions, then let us know. You can email us at [email protected] or call us at (813) 932-0241.

 

• Potluck is August 7^th. Owen from Lab Theater Project will be giving a brief presentation.

 

• Book Club’s Luncheon is August 6^th at the Granda Hacienda on Dale Mabry. They will be meeting at 1pm on the restaurant patio. Book Club has their monthly meeting on Zoom on August 13^th at 12:30 to 2:00.

 

• Beginning August 8^th, Poetry Class with Mish will be offered on Zoom! Poetry Class will run for 8 weeks, and be on Thursday mornings, 10:00 to noon. Call or email us to sign up. (813) 932-0241 and [email protected].

 

• We have an Intro to Pastels Workshop on August 17^th from 10:00am to 1:00pm with Janice. No experience with pastels needed. This class is for anyone interested in trying out a new medium. Supplies will be provided. If you have soft pastels you are welcome to bring them.

 

• Photo Club has their monthly meeting on August 21^st 1:30 to 3:00pm on Zoom. The Photo Challenge this month is “Hardware”. Take a picture of anything you think meets the challenge. You can interpret that how you wish.

 

• We want to give the BIGGEST thank you to our members who worked on the mural on the front of our building. The mural is so beautiful, and we greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Arleen, Beth, Tim, and Emily!
