Announcements for week of September 30 – October 6

Announcements:  Week of September 30th – October 6th

Did you know…

Collage comes from the French word for “to glue” since that is one of the main methods used in the various forms of collage.  Whether it is mixing different types and shapes of papers to form an image or creating something abstract, collage is an extremely versatile art form.  It offers a host of possibilities for those who think they have no artistic ability and a range of challenges for more experienced artists.

Join the Paper Collage or Mixed Media Collage classes Mondays from 10am to 12pm to learn more about this art form.

October Potluck:

  • Wednesday October 2 from 12 – 1 pm. Bring a dish & enjoy spending time with good food and good friends.

Other LEC news…

  • Have you checked the bulletin board in the entrance hallway?  The calendar for the month posted there.  There is also information about Hillsborough County’s Senior Outdoor Active Recreation schedule of hikes, walks, kayak trips, and museum tours.  Check the board for all sorts of interesting opportunities!
  • Do you have a free two-hour block during the week? The LEC still needs volunteers for every other Tuesday morning, Wednesday afternoons, and every other Friday.   Please call or drop us an email if you are interested in volunteering. Responsibilities include checking emails, light organizational projects, answering phones, etc.
