Sheldon Rogg

Coins & Stamps

Sheldon Rogg, originally from Brooklyn, New York, has been around coins and stamps for as long as he can remember. His father collected stamps his entire life and accumulated an extensive collection. Sheldon himself became interested in coins when he was 16 years old and has been collecting and selling them since 1967. When he came to Tampa in 1978, Sheldon worked as a travel agent, but he also opened a coin & stamp shop and then, later, a pawn shop. He keeps an active schedule and attends about 22 stamp & coin shows a year.

Sheldon has been a member of the Tampa Collectors Club since 1981, and he currently serves as the Secretary Treasurer. The Tampa Collectors Club, part of the American Philatelic Society, is the oldest Stamp Collectors Club in the USA. Sheldon is proud to be a part of an organization that helps promote the hobby and keep the art of collectibles alive.

In their online and in-person meetings at the LEC, members can share their collection, view other members’ collections, bring their stamps for a free appraisal, receive advice on a collection, bid on stamps from the auction, and observe the excitement of a stamp auction in action. Sheldon encourages collectors of all ages to attend meetings. The club is always happy to welcome new members and help them in any way they can.
