David Beebe’s entry into travel photojournalism began over 40 years ago when he joined a camera club in high school shooting black-and-white images. It was the start of a long, exciting journey and a passion that has spanned decades. He eventually moved into color photography and focused on wildlife and nature. In the late 1980s, David added underwater photography and video to his toolbox. In 2001, he made the transition from film to digital. He began a decade of producing images, videos, and stories for respected outlets like National Geographic Television and Luxe Beat Magazine.

David has been blessed with a lifetime of travel around the globe sharing images and encounters with wildlife above and below the water. More recently, he has focused on the people and cultures he encounters on his treks. With over 173 destinations across 64 countries in his portfolio, David and his wife Patricia look forward to the day when adventure travel to exotic destinations is possible again post-pandemic.

A native of Tampa, David earned degrees in Computer Science at the University of South Florida and Nova Southeastern University. He went on to work in IT for over 30 years and later served at the North Tampa Arts League for four years as the president, the vice president of marketing, and as a board member. In 1993, he started B2 Photo & Video, which provides custom video production and photography services.

In 2016, David became an instructor at the Life Enrichment Center and brought curriculum on photography, such as “How to Photograph Your Art” and “How to Get Your Art Online” to all the resident artists there. He also leads the LEC’s Camera Club on monthly photography excursions. For David, there is nothing better than going out with a group of artistic-minded people to the same location and getting to see all the unique perspectives captured. Participation in the Camera Club is free to LEC Members.
