T.J. Couch, Jr.

T.J. Couch, Jr., Chair Emeritus, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and an Executive M.B.A. from the University of South Florida. Couch began his professional career at Tampa’s Museum of Science and Industry ultimately becoming the Director of Business Enterprises where he directed all aspects of the IMAX® Dome Theatre operations and MOSI’s retail operations.
Having a keen interest in the performing and visual arts, Couch served as a creative consultant on numerous film productions by providing his insight into script development, cinemagraphic editing and production release marketing. He later transitioned to the private sector as Vice President of both the University Commercial Center, a commercial property development and management corporation, and Premium Mortgage Inc., a private lending institution. Presently T.J. works in the special theatrical effects and scenic arts industry, producing attractions for theme parks, museums, film productions and other unique clients.
T.J. Couch, Jr. serves the community as a volunteer, consultant, and on the Board of Directors of many prominent community organizations, including: Moffitt Cancer Center, David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, University of South Florida Foundation, the University Area Community Development Corporation, Hillsborough County’s Historic Preservation Challenge Grant Program, Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, the Florida Aquarium, the Life Enrichment Center, and the Couch Family Foundation. He is a native of Tampa.
